THE BARDÓ CAFÉ

"A literary entertainment, where stories and tales, poems and ballads are rehearsed and recited and songs are sung, conundrums are put, proverbs are quoted and many other literary matters are related and discussed".

Alexander Carmichael
from the 'The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries' by Evans-Wentz, c.1900

Setanta Studios, being the active arm of Sword of Light , is pleased to conduct Irish Music Studies on Wednesday evenings upstairs in Roca Jack's Coffee House.

Each Wednesday evening after class, starting around 9pm, the Bardo Café gets under way.

The Bardo Café is where one can sit and enjoy watching whomever take to the stage to do something one may not normally find that person, or oneself for that matter, doing, in ' normal ' everyday life. Mostly, when we're on the 'all-the-world's-a-stage' stage, we do whatever it is we've been ' rehearsing ' all our lives, so to speak.

At Bardo Café we've a chance to practice behaving 'in the moment', so to speak, under the relatively friendly gaze of all and sundry.

Sounds scary, does'nt it? No scarier though, I'm sure, than when its really happening. Hmm, maybe I'll rewrite this whole schpeel.

In the meantime, come on down Wednesday evenings, and 'get in the act'! You'll love it.

And boys and girls, while ye're thinking about it, here's a few somewhat ' well rehearsed ' songs for your lish'ning pleasure.
