WELCOME TO THE CONCERT HALL

'The Bardo Café' courtesy of Douglass-Truth

" Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better under the sun than that a man shall rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion."

Tonight, the featured performer is... "Ye're man".

These audio samples are designed to give you a taste of recent recordings . They are not of CD quality, yet it is hoped they will be of some listening value.

A STÓR MO CHROÍ

Listen

A stór mo chroí, when you're far away from the home that you'll soon be leaving, it's many a time, by night and by day, that your heart will be sorely grieving. For the stranger's land may be bright and fair and rich in it's treasures golden, you'll pine I know, for the long long ago and the love that is never olden.

A stór mo chroí, in the stranger's land there is plenty of wealth and a' wailing. Whilst gems adorn the great and the grand, there are faces with the hunger paleing. When the road is dreary and hard to thread and the lights of their cities blind you, won't you turn, a stór, to your own shore, and the love that always surrounds you.

A stór mo chroí, when the evening sun over mountain and meadow is falling, won't you turn away from the throng and list, and maybe you'll hear it calling; the sound of a voice deep inside, forever simply being. A rún, mo rún, won't you come back soon to the One who always loves you.

ALL MESSED UP - PIERCE TURNER - IRELAND IN MANHATTEN

Listen

I'm all messed up, going down slow, I fought the law for way too long. I'm on my back, looking at the ceiling, Wondering how my baby feels today. Wondering if I still cross her mind, wondering if she's wired of if she's tired, wondering if she's fine or confused, Like I am today. Here I go again, I'm all messed up,loosing control, must be something wrong with my approach, cross my eyelids with my arms. And I apologise to all I've done harm or done wrong, but I was half asleep and half brave. I'm afraid I got lost.

SHE MOVED THROUGH THE FAIR

Listen

My young love said to me, my mother won't mind, and my father won't slight you for your lack of kind. She stepped away from me and this she did say, " It will not be long love, till our wedding day."

She stepped away from me and she moved through the fair. And fondly I watched her move here and move there. She went her way homeward, with one star awake. As the swan in the evening moved over the lake.

Last night she came to me, my dead love came in. So softly she entered, her feet made no din. She laid her hand on me and this she did say, " It will not be long love till our wedding day."

A CHILD IS BORN - PARKER DICKSON

Listen

A child is born in love but it soon learns to forget it. Lives a while in hope but soon is run by habit. Are you at a place called sacrifice of comfort; know there's something more but don't know how to get it?

What use all your hopes, what use all your achievements? What use all your life when it comes time to leave it? Is there something more when this life is over; fertilize the sun or fertilize the clover?

Now you're half way home, you're starting to get nervous. There's a nagging in your guts, you still have found no purpose. Better take the rest and live it like a warrior. Do you think you'll get the chance to do it over?

Now for something completely different; a short ramble with

Sé & The Just Because Band

from
" Stuff 'im & Keep the Party Goin'. "
